Joe Dorn First Serve

Joe Dorn First Serve

Joe Dorn First Serve is named after Joe Dorn, a student and close friend of Jack Waters.  While playing for the University of North Carolina, Joe won ACC titles at the #2 singles position and the #1 doubles position on a team that was undefeated and won the ACC championship his senior year.

Through Joe Dorn First Serve, the GTF provides statewide financial assistance to National Junior Tennis and Learning Chapters (NJTL). These programs provide afterschool programing and a pathway for children to develop tennis skills while also having an educational component.

The philosophy of the NJTL program centers on team play and teamwork and provides a safe-haven for young people, positive role models, and strives to bring together young people from every segment of a community. They combine educational components with tennis skills development as well as the opportunity to attend Leadership Camps to play against kids from other NJTLs throughout the State and Section.
