Cannon Carr Tournament Entry Fee Assistance – The Georgia Tennis Foundation is proud to offer financial assistance to Junior Tournament players in Georgia to help cover entry fees. Parents may request reimbursement for up to 2 tournaments in the 2025 calendar year. This is a reimbursement so please apply after the tournament has been completed.

Afterschool Program Grant – The Georgia Tennis Foundation Afterschool Program Grant is an opportunity for schools or organizations aiming to foster a love for tennis among children beyond regular physical education classes. This grant aims to broaden access to tennis programming by offering support for initiatives conducted either at the school or a local parks and recreation facility. By introducing more children to the sport of tennis, this grant seeks to promote its benefits as a lifelong activity.

Potential grant recipients may include schools looking to enhance their extracurricular offerings, community organizations seeking to promote healthy lifestyles through sports, or parks and recreation departments aiming to expand their tennis programs. Overall, the Georgia Tennis Foundation Afterschool Program Grant presents an excellent opportunity for organizations to contribute to the development of youth tennis in their communities and to instill a passion for the sport among children.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • A school OR tennis affiliated organization may apply
  • In order to be eligible to receive funds: the individual or individuals who will be instructing or coaching must be Safe Play approved.
  • Funds can be used for equipment, marketing materials, coaching stipend, or court/facility fees
  • Program will be a minimum of 6 weeks long
  • Grant Amount: $750 maximum award
  • Applications Due: Ongoing (Final date to submit: December 5, 2025)

High School Tennis Team Grant – The Georgia Tennis Foundation is committed to fostering the growth of youth tennis and helping high school athletes experience the many benefits of the sport, both on and off the court. The Georgia Tennis Foundation High School Tennis Grant is designed to support high school tennis teams striving to grow their programs and inspire a love for tennis among students.

This grant provides up to $250 in financial assistance to help cover costs such as equipment, uniforms, marketing, and other program-related expenses. Eligible applicants include High School Tennis Teams – public and private – looking to strengthen their program, improve player development, and expand their reach within their school and community. 

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Georgia Tennis Foundation is proud to offer scholarships to Georgia youth players who are pursuing both academic and athletic excellence in college. Currently, three scholarships are available for application. Click the “Apply Here” button to access the application form. The scholarship application for the 2024-25 academic year will remain open until 11:59 PM on March 31, 2025. Manny Guillen Scholarship – The Georgia Tennis Foundation (GTF) is proud to offer the Manny Guillen Tennis Scholarship, in conjunction with our partnership with the Atlanta Senior Invitational (ASI) tournament.  The recipient of the Manny Guillen Tennis Scholarship will receive an award equal to $1,500 for the given calendar academic year.

The Manny Guillen Tennis Scholarship will be awarded to a selected high school senior (male or female) of Hispanic origin who is on a varsity high school tennis team in Georgia.  In addition, the applicant should be entering college after high school graduation and ideally planning to participate on a college varsity or club tennis team.  

The scholarship is named after Manny Guillen, a long-time ASI Committee member and volunteer.  Manny is a 40+ year USTA volunteer at all levels of the organization (CTA, state, section & National). 

Richard Bowers Scholarship – The Georgia Tennis Foundation (GTF) is proud to offer the Richard Bowers Tennis Scholarship, in conjunction with our partnership with the Atlanta Senior Invitational (ASI) tournament.  The recipient of the Richard Bowers Tennis Scholarship will receive an award equal to $1,500 for the given calendar academic year.

The Richard Bowers Tennis Scholarship will be awarded to a selected Georgia player who is 1) currently on a varsity tennis team 2) has an immediate family member who is currently serving or has previously served in the military 3) intends to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student  

The scholarship is named after Richard Bowers, a long-time ASI Presenting Sponsor and Committee member.  Richard is a former high ranked junior player who attended the United States Military Academy West Point and was a member of their tennis team.  In addition, Richard was inducted to the Georgia Tennis Hall of Fame in 2015.  

Ralph Grieco Family Foundation Scholarship – The Georgia Tennis Foundation (GTF) is proud to offer the Ralph Grieco Family Foundation Tennis Scholarship. The recipient of the Ralph Grieco Tennis Scholarship will receive an award equal to $1,500 for the given calendar academic year.

The Ralph Grieco Family Foundation Tennis Scholarship will be awarded to a selected Georgia player who is currently on a varsity high school tennis team and intends to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student.

The scholarship (established by the Grieco Family) is named after Ralph Grieco, a highly ranked senior player at the state, section & national level of USTA. 

Shoan Finch Memorial Scholarship – The Georgia Tennis Foundation (GTF) is proud to offer the Shoan Finch Memorial Scholarship. The recipient of this scholarship will receive an award equal to $1,500 for the given calendar academic year.

The Shoan Finch Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a selected Georgia player who has participated in USTA Junior Team Tennis (JTT) and/or USTA Tournaments in the previous calendar year (2024) and intends to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student.

The scholarship (established by the Finch family) is named after Shoan Finch, a former president of USTA Atlanta and passionate USTA League player in the Atlanta area.
